Welcome to Uhaul!

Not pictured: Ackbar

Quotes from the Gloom:

  • “I was going to say that it’s been a good Q until you pulled that $%&!” – Schneider

We kept the heart rate pretty high throughout, but apparently some pax did not think the ending was very fun. But on to…

The Thang

  • Mosey around the parking lot island in front of the Middle School and back over to a little alcove off of our CoT parking lot for a warmup.
  • Warmup
    • Side Straddle Hop x20 IC
    • Merkins x20 IC
    • Mountain Climbers x20 IC
    • Arm Circles-forward x20 IC
    • Arm Circles-backward x20 IC
    • Seal Claps x20 IC
    • Overhead Seal Claps x20 IC
    • (Arms up the whole time, if possible.)
    • Grab some wall and do Prime the Pump (Fairly rapid calf raises while steadying self against a wall or piece of playground equipment.) x30 IC
      • Note: A few Pax got a little nervous as I was explaining this, but no one was injured during the priming.
  • Mosey out of alcove and down the lighted sidewalk that runs along the West side of the middle school.
  • Meet up by “Transporter’s Shed” (yep, still officially called that on Google Maps).
  • Run (yes, faster than a Mosey) over to the covered walkway by the school buses.
    • Squats x10 at each pillar
    • Frog Jump/Broad Jump from pillar to pillar
    • There were nine or ten pillars, so about 100 squats by the end.
    • Some Side Plank and Star Side Plank led by Transporter while waiting for the Six.
  • Mosey over to the stairs for some Partner Work.
    • Partner 1: Is the Timer. Runs up the stairs, does 10 Donkey Kicks, and then runs back down the pathway.
    • Partner 2: Cut-a-Flip at the bottom of the stairs.
      • 10 Merkins then 10 Big Boy Situps, repeato until Partner 1 comes back.
    • Each Partner repeats 3 times (or 3.5 times if you’re like YHC and struggle with counting).
  • Mosey over to wall next to Transporter’s Shed.
    • People’s Chair against the wall while waiting for the Six.
    • Once everyone arrived, we shook out the legs, and then returned to People’s Chair and did Air Presses x50 IC (so, 100 total).
  • Time was getting short, so we started a Mosey back towards CoT along the lighted pathway. But, it wasn’t just a Mosey.
  • Before we started the Mosey, YHC gave the instruction, “If you see a light, run towards it and do 5 Burpees”. (Yeah we hadn’t done any Burpees up to this point. That’s totally my bad.)
    • I think there ended up being 9 or 10 lights along the sidewalk (so around 50 Burpees along the way back).
  • I think this was where my friendship with Schneider started to waver (see quote at the beginning). So, in order to solidify the disdain…
  • Once back to CoT, we had just enough time for an Ab Web
    • Big Boys x1 / American Hammers x4 IC  (everybody loved that this was in cadence)  =)
    • Big Boys x2 / American Hammers x8 IC
    • …we worked our way up to Big Boys x5 (missed out on the 20 American Hammers IC)

Moleskine (i.e., Spreadsheets from the Gloom)

It was my first time Q’ing at Impromptu, but it was nice to be surrounded by so many friendly familiar faces. Great group of guys that really pushed themselves. We also got to welcome out a Transporter EH in “John”, now affectionately known as Uhaul. He is a friend of Transporter and he’s a caddy, so it kind of fits. Kudos to Dough Boy (I think it was) for the suggestion!
