Marvelous Marvin

I messaged Das Boot last month telling him that I was trying to EH my cousin-in-law who lives in Marvin. Like the good Site Q he is, Das Boot suggested that I Q The Body Shop to get him to come out. With “100% chance of thunderstorm” in the forecast all week, I felt bad having an FNG come out so I ended up not even asking him. As luck would have it though, we ended up having a great morning for a workout.

Warm up:

Mosey up the hill a little bit, then back to COT for

  • SSH x 15
  • Moroccan night clubs x 15
  • Seal claps x 10 IC
  • Overhead claps x 10 IC
  • Plank -> calf stretch
  • Downward dog -> upward dog

The Thang:

Mosey over to playground to start the fun stuff

  • Modified Murph: 5 pull-ups, 10 diamond merkins, 15 squats, then run a lap around the track. Repeato x 4

A little further down the parking lot we split into 3 groups.

  • 2 groups at either end of the awnings doing Dry Docks and American Hammers
  • 3rd group lunge walking in between
  • Everyone switched spots for a total of 2 rounds each.

Mosey to front of school where 1 man was the “timer” doing 30 step ups. Other PAX did exercises called out by Q:

  • squat thrusts
  • Mike Tysons
  • Air jump rope
  • speed skaters
  • Merkin

Run a lap around lot to celebrate 1st round, then back at it

  • Peter Parkers
  • Superman holds
  • reverse lunge
  • Bobby Hurleys
  • Dragonflies

Run another lap, then meet up at COT for quick abs — 20 Dollys and 20 Freddie Mercuries.

Moleskine:

Good to see some new faces out this morning. We had Short Circuit who was visiting from the Atlanta area, and Kerouac who just started coming out this week. Kerouac was introduced to F3 by some guys from Elevation Church and recently moved from California. Hope to see him back at future workouts. Thanks to Das Boot for encouraging me to get out of my usual routine of driving the shortest distance possible from Lawson to get to an AO. The slightly extra drive time was worth it.

Announcements:

Blood Drive: Sat 4/9 @ Weddington United Methodist
