Edict from the Q. Commander Cody, the time has come. Execute Order 66. which for us means time to shred the gnar and today also move OTC Tuesday to try and salvage a ride of the week.
Not 10 minutes later torrential downpour that didn’t even show on radar, before it subsided for a while.

Fletch came out of retirement to join the godfather, Jedi calrissian and the gluten for punishment, at the forks for a little tour de gnar of lenny hill.
The first tasting started at the new 5 forks entrance as endo manualed the lil step en route to the peanut butter slide and water crossing. Rockwell splashed the creek and cleaned the clock. We climbed into the adults only section and discovered a new gate at the entrance of lenny hill that served as a new warning sign of the back country which had ominous target and paint ball spooge splattered all over it. Rockwell was keeping an eye over his shoulder for 10 year olds to ambush us with paintball guns but fortunately they were at home glued to their gaming chairs instead of being kids and becoming the subject of neighborhood Facebook page drama. Anyway we climbed the roller coaster and dropped into waterfall which descends past a sometime not dry waterfall into a mini-table top kicker and up a berm that sets up the pow skinny drop to the glory hole. Next climbed middle earth green line to drop the Highline – the new far right table top to session pow skinny drop to glory hole which was actually glory hole splash today.
Next climbed green line mid mountain express and down into death creek to hit the newest feature the berm-hole which is still under construction. Nothing better than hearing the uncontrollable giggle from endo as his trek soaked up the super chunk and used 150mm of travel then crush the rock garden to set up for the red knuckler. The red knuckler is exit section of death creek that is somewhere between gnar and sketch because u white knuckle a point and shoot or dismount… if you don’t commit, say hello to my little friend as you tumble down into Mubaraks rock or get a new cedar bark tattoo.
We then hit virgin ground and road the pink line creek trail to eventually poach the pine forest trail of adelina. Next we continued over the yet to be named bridge o sketch and went over the river and through the woods to grandma mas house (well I’m pretty sure Amavi will have a bunch of yankee grandmas some day) to experience the pucker crack – a stream crossing feature that again, if you point and shoot, you roll through, but if you dismount, you may end up with a brown stain or wet feet that you’ll have to explain later.
We came to the crossing to streamside by rainbow bridge but decided to out and back. It was truly beautiful and amazing to be right behind our homes and not see or hear any signs of the paved world. Deer bounding through the woods, birds chirping, mysterious splashes into and along a babbling creek as we pedaled through the woods on single track. If you ignor grammar and got a warm feeling as you visualized that last sentence, or enjoy the blue ridge parkway over 221 and haven’t come out, hit me up for a personal tour. Anyway, back to lenny we climbed switch back and I heard groans of disappointment as each bax attempted to clean the rocky climb but became dismount casualties of the tree. It warms my heart to hear guys groan and curse when they are disappointed they didn’t clean a super tough section leaving a desire to come back and try again next time. Just sounds and feels better than hearing complaints of how difficult a section is. Anyway – my soapbox on tech de gnar. The punchy climb that needs some TLC ended with a rip down hash pipe then a left exit to Howard’s loop.
Next cutty connector up 5 and down 1 to hit green mile. Back up glass factory and out emergency exit to middle 4 climb, to then hit 3 lane change to jumpline and back to 3 for the full cutty connector which was just getting sloppy as the water was soaking into slop before getting back to COT.
We were served quite a charcuterie board from cutty, poco, and Lenny today. juicy morsels of sketch, soup, and gnar, on top of skinny, splash, rock garden, dipped into slip n ramp, and pipe and roller drops. Chased by off camber curve, slop, squish, at ludicrous speed which did not disappoint the highly refined palettes of the gnar patrol.
Back at COT, fully satisfied, we chatted snowboarding, downhill plans, beech, bike racks, and life. Till next time we stink up the place…
