6 men gathered for the first workout of the 8-wk mile time trial training plan, designed by ChatGPT. We did 8 x 400m @ 5k pace, with 90 sec recovery. Of course we did a warm-up run, dynamic stretching, and strides ahead of time. All-in-all it wasn’t that bad, considering last year’s plan had the same workout, but at mile pace and with 60 sec recovery. Hoping that easing in helps prevent injury and allows everyone to get to the time trial on Jun 3 in one piece. Everyone worked hard and got it done.
Next on tap is a 20-min tempo run on Thursday at “comfortably hard” pace, which should be around 10k pace. I’ll be doing mine at Pursuit (I’m not on Q) if anyone wants to join.
