Zinfandel suggested that I start up a 6:30 workout and Two Hand Touch put his hand up quickly to amen that.
So here we are and away we go.
Pinged an additional Kotter (Snooki) and an EH but they no showed.
Spam jumped out of bed this morning raring to go however until he felt a rain drop.
Opening mosey down around the island, up to the stop sign and back for some SSH and Moroccan Night Clubs.
Called for 10 Squats, 10 Curls and 10 Big Bois (running around the island and back in between but didn’t explain it well to Chastain ,who rolled in hot off of the ChatterBox #float Q, and who promptly did all three exercises and then rain.
After a few rounds, we did bear crawls and lunges followed by 7’s with Bomb Jacks and big bois.
Came back to do Triceps, bent over rows and RDL’s with more running in between when Posse arrived much to the delight of Spam who yelled, “There’s another workout guy!”
Wrapped up with each Pax calling AB exercises.
Took us out with a thought from a book I’ve been reading “The Art of the Impossible” by Steven Kotler.
He talks about a developing the skills of grind and grit. So, rather than glumly sit and do nothing wishing things were different, get up off your butt and start moving to what you need to do.
A couple of quotes from the book.
“Grit is motivation writ large—not just the energy it takes to push through a difficult task but the energy needed to push through years of difficult tasks. Without the ability to tough out the hard times, you’ll rarely get anywhere worth going.”
“Stalking the impossible demands digging deep on a daily basis. Laotzu wasn’t wrong: the journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. But it’s still a journey of a thousand miles.
Uphill, in the dark, both ways.”
LFG!!
