What had happened was:
A well planned route was reconned. We set out around the parking lot of 5 Stones. I warned them not to be salty about wet feet, even apologized. Off into the field we went. Then we wandered through the woods, over bridges, up hills, over trees. About 2 miles maybe 2.5. It was great!
We didn’t get lost, and we finished on time.
I love the forest in the dark!
