What had happened was: The rain held off, the trails were perfect, temps were idyllic. Led by Breezer, the fast A group exited the parking lot without any wrecks and headed for Lenny. The B group led by yours truly headed toward Cutty with 11 pax while more pax continued to arrive. Somewhere on Cutty we lost Snuggle Bones to technical difficulties. Aside from that all was peaceful and good as we gobbled up climbs and carved the corners and enjoyed speedy downhills until… literally everyone converged on the Cutty connector at the same time. First A and B nearly collided at full throttle, then B group happily avoided a motorbike, a couple hiking, and two kids on bikes, then stopped briefly to greet a small contingent of pax made up of the latecomers, group C if you will. We finally found Snuggles pushing his bike with a flat, apparently from landing one of the gap jumps a little too hard, he himself in one piece, just a bit worried about telling the owner of his borrowed bike…his future father-in-law. A couple laps around the skills park took us to 7pm with 7 miles logged for B, about 8 for A.
Announcements: Rag planning a Bike and Brunch event for Saturday May 16. Stay tuned for details.
Several pax stayed for pizza and bike repairs. Hats off to Bratwurst for organizing the bike repair/giveaway program.
