Two main topics discussed:
(1) Feeding of the four thousand (not to be confused with the feeding of the five thousand from Mark 6).
(2) Pharisees asking for a sign (Seriously? Y’all haven’t had signs enough?).
Conclusion:
o When Jesus was given five loaves of bread and two fishes, he fed five thousand people. (Mark 6)
o When Jesus was given seven loaves of bread and a few fishes, he fed four thousand people. (Mark 8)
o When we give Jesus what we have, no matter how much, He magnifies it—He makes of it something far
better and far greater than we can imagine.
o We don’t have anything that He needs, but He has everything that we truly need.
o Jesus is the “bread of life” (John 6:35), when we come to Christ, we hunger no more.
o This is not to say that we will not have struggles. We will.
o Which is why He taught us to ask for “daily bread” (Matthew 6:11) or bread “day by day” (Luke 11:3).
o We need Him every day, every day, every day.
o May we daily turn to Him so that He can take what we have and make of it so much more.
