What had happened was: Uneventful drop-in, toured the river crossing, but had to leave Lenny lonely due to flood stage conditions. Out to Cutty at a nice pace. Climbing the hill I had to throw the pedal down with a little more vigor to make sure Kick Stand felt like he was getting a workout (mission accomplished). Down the green mile and then hit an incredible Power Company jump line. Soooooo much work goes into these trails, every week I cannot be more appreciative of the trail gnomes. Many Pax were out at the beach for Spring Break, however I fully expect Titanium Plates – if he was leaning up against a palm tree with a colada in hand – was still dreaming of the power company jump line. After power company I came across a trail blockage that I was quickly trying to clean up but I didn’t clear out in time before some bikes bunched up, and Mustard experienced the perfect storm of stopped bikes, sun in his eyes, and gnarly turn and a muddy spot that helped him go OTB right into a mud pit. Mustard was all smiles though as it is always so great to be out there. Hi-Hat was for sure keeping serious torque on the drive train as no matter how hard I was crushing throgh the trails Id see him right behind Kick Stand. It was really awesome to see McGruff back in the pack this week and Paul Boskovich – Kodak made sure to get his miles in with us since he knew he would be on assignment over the weekend instead of on a mountain bike. Mustard was having a very good ride – he is always happy to be out on the MTB but he seemed particularly happy with this week’s ride. I can always count on Rag and Stretcher to be out there whenever it is possible for them.
