To start- YHC made a rookie mistake of only posting the launch point in the Playhouse. This caused several PAX not to know where to start and we had 2 separate launch points- 1 in WC and 1 in Millbridge….
Either way we all got some miles crossing the border and back and eventually crossed paths.
But today’s story of inspiration comes from the unexpected source of an 11 year old, Magic Man!
This is SnB’s son. I met him last week at pursuit when he pushed the entire time to get his longest run of his young running career of 5 miles. I was pretty impressed that he was able to push for that far, for that long, but he did great.
Today he showed up again at border_patrol
I planned a 6+ mile loop today, not the typical out and back, so we all needed to stay close together to be on the correct route.
I’ve gotta say, this kid is a beast! He pushed for back to back weeks setting his personal distance record, and enjoyed it.
As we were approaching the end of the loop he yells out, “I see it…” Motioning to the clubhouse where we originally launched from… And then says “Man, that was pretty cool!”
I love it! Well done SnB – you have an amazing boy… Who managed to inspire several old men this morning, while his friends were “still in bed, or at home eating cereal”
