Murphy is a solid Irish name and with a site allegedly dedicated to Murph prep…well, we just had to do some of that. We did so with a little twist:
Partner up, opposite speeds. Starting at the playground, partner one runs to the first stop sign and back. Partner two rotates through 5 pull-ups, 10 merkins, and 15 squats until their partner is back and then they switch. Oh yeah, there’s an EMOM timer (every-minute-on-the-minute) where the partner doing the reps stops what they’re doing and does 5 burpees. The timing was awful and sometimes one person (me…) got stuck doing two rounds of burpees in a row. We did 15 total rounds of burpees (or 15 minutes). Yuck.
Next up, find a new partner and move over to the bus parking. There are 14 bus spaces. Partner one starts in space 1 and partner two starts on the opposite end in space 14. Partners bear crawl towards each other until they meet in the middle(ish) and then do 10 hand slap merkins then mosey back to one space closer (so spaces 2 and 13). Repeato with the bear crawl but do 10 squats instead. Repeato, alternating the merkins and squats and always moving one space closer. Every finishes on lucky space number 7. Hurray!
A long mosey back to the starting parking lot for two rounds of 4 Leaf Clovers (also known as 4 Corners) where we did
– 10 Irish Jigs (AKA High Knees)
– 10 Fightin’ Irish (AKA American Knockouts)
– 10 Irish Springs (AKA Bonnie Blairs 2=1)
– 10 Conor McGregors (AKA Mike Tysons)
– Bonus round: 10 Leapin’ Leprechauns (AKA Bobby Hurleys)
We had a little bit more time so we did another round with 15 reps each before finishing with a few ab exercises
