What had happened was: Tropical storm Debby chose NOT to be a Debby downer and intrude on Off The Chain; the “Waxhaw bubble” is even more powerful than a hurricane! We entered that trail head as a single group of a farmers dozen, and that many bikes slinging around the first corner looked like the dirty side of a hurricane. Trails were in absolutely incredible condition and we enjoyed the relatively cooler pre-storm conditions. It was absolutely fantastic to see Titanium Plates back home from his Western Adventures. This group, like always, was all smiles – and there was a lot of “whoop whoop” “whoooooot” “cawcawwwwwww!” and similar lingo happening as we whipped around berms and hopped mounds. During COT we had a surprise visit from Rockslide whom happened to be in the area and he went out to retrieve a couple of donor bikes for us. After COT we spent some time offering TLC to some bikes for a giveaway happening via Christ Closet this coming weekend. Come out and join us some time!
