WARMUP:
alternating runs with stops for SHH, seal jacks, ski jacks, merkins, then some stretches
THE THANG:
Suicide ladder with cones that had different exercises at each one, 10 reps with 2 burpees when you got back to the start each time. The crab jacks were awkward and the snow angels were harder than expected.
Jump rope time! Each person took a turn doing 50 jumps while the other Pax did whatever exercise the jumper had called out. I never knew so many people hated jumping rope! Some were very good at it.
Mosey over to the neighborhood next door and ran a loop around it stopping at each light doing 2 burpees per light on the first lap. On the 2nd lap we did 2 superman merkins at each light. Then mosey back to Publix.
Wall sits while doing a web of air punches and air presses, made it up to 7 and 28 and we only had 3 min left. I don’t think anyone really wanted to finish that web anyway.
On the way back to COT we picked up a lone Pax – Two Timer who showed up late and couldn’t find us, but he finished with us.
Total mileage was 2.67
I like this new site. It is well lit with plenty of sidewalks, some benches, close by neighborhoods, a good wall area in the back, a retention pond for a polar plunge, and open parking areas to use. However, there are a few “no public dumping” signs posted and I didn’t see any porta johns, so plan ahead for that.
We found out that a lot of people don’t like eating turkey on Thanksgiving. Dunkin’s family had ham and Fuse Box had steak & chicken. My wife also doesn’t like baked turkey. Who woulda thought? I guess that’s why you only cook a turkey once a year.
After seeing a bunch of geese land in the retention pond I educated the Pax on the fact that goose meat is more like steak but chewy and tough – not a crowd favorite, but maybe better than turkey?
Posse, thanks for the invite to Q. Otherwise I probably would have stayed home and eaten leftover pie for breakfast.
