Today at Mt. X we celebrated one of the great linebackers in college football. Payton Wilson – NC State.

Warm up Rep’s were either 15 or 13 which was his career sacks and interception totals.

Later on we would use his 402 total tackles as a rep count.

WARMUP:
Run to the entrance.
15 Toy Soldiers
13 Inch Worm Merkins
Run back towards Mt. X and circle up for:
15 SSH’s
Jimmy Duggan’s.

THE THANG:
Mosey to find gifts waiting for us – a fire hose and a plate. Payton has been described as playing with his hair on fire (Hair Burners) and carrying the team on his back (Backward hose pull). Two pax grabbed a hose or plate and started pushing/pulling towards the end of the parking lot. The rest of the group ran the opposite direction around the far island and to the hose and plate to change out with the pax. Continue until the hose and plate meet back at the starting point. Put the hose and plate back up.

Grab our blocks for 402 reps. 100 Curls, 100 Tricep extensions, 100 Overhead Press, 102 Ice Pickers. Go at your own pace, but as soon as you stop lifting, put the block down and run to the curb and back. The number of breaks you take dictates how much you run. The pax started strong with curls stopping somewhere in the 35-50 rep range. After that the breaks came faster. The pax got very quiet during the ice pickers and I’m pretty sure I heard Elmer’s cussing me out under his breath. I knew ice picker’s were tough, but I didn’t remember them being that tough.

5 minutes left. A new rendition of make it stop called “Lets Rest”. Same exercise, pax just call for a 20 second rest. The exercise was chest presses. We got to 100 with rests called at 50, 67, and 86 reps.

1 minute left so we stayed on the ground for 25 LBC’s in cadence.

MOLESKIN:
– Spitz really loved this workout. I’m so glad I was able to spread the Wolfpack gospel to him today.
– Elmer’s was Elmer’s.
– Cutlet still going strong for his 6 or 7th workout in less than 1 week.
– Doughboy fighting through a chest cold. We learned today he is a spitter, not a swallower.
– Chasinsaw kicked ass as usual.
– Draper with the customary lime green long sleeve shirt.

COT Message:
Doughboy shared a tough story of his neighbor and former F3 pax that won’t be revealed here. Doughboy pushed everyone in attendance to share what’s on your mind, share what’s bothering you, and not to push it deep down to only let it simmer and get worse. Whether its a shield lock, a fellow pax after the workout, or during COT…share what’s heavy on your heart, the weight will get lighter.
