Cliff notes: The plan is still to continue with the CSAUPs every week since Spring started, and while we are slowly running out of ideas, we can always reflect on the most rewarding ones from this season and repeat them as needed. And so, this week, the consensus was that we needed to challenge ourselves with the absurd hills of Horsey and reward it with breakfast and fellowship.
We also took the opportunity to test some of the finer skills most of us will need for the upcoming BRR. Case in point: the poignantly smelling car. Kilo was kind enough to offer his Palisade for this try. Tim, Bastian, and YHC brought the sweaty clothes, worn-out shoes, putrid socks and rancid towels. We spread them strategically on seats and trunks, and let that marinade for about an hour while we feasted at Stacks.
Another item for discussion was the consumption of energy-efficient fuel during the 24-hour trip through the mountains. As it turns out, two of our crew are masters of curing and dehydrating meat. We are not quite sure who’s best, so Transporter offered a Jerky-off.
I don’t know you, but things like this make the upcoming BRR more and more appealing.

Anyway, we are already looking for the next crazy idea. You do not have to be a trail runner or have signed up for BRR. Feel free to offer something and join us. You don’t want to miss all this fun.

On the technical part: the usual. Kid Rock with a frigging sub-8 half marathon plus. Half-Pipe with a similar pace, leisurely chatting with everybody, barely breaking a sweat for about 14+. He decided to run an extra 7 or 8 (what would you expect from someone who completes/competes in 100-milers every other week?).
Shania and Fugitive are rehearsing for their moonlight job as stuntmen in the Flash movies. All we could see was a streak of light and hear a salutation on each kill. We knew who was who by the accent.
Tim and Flip head-to-head with another display of the effective Rubbermaid Shuffle(c). Schnitzel, Chatter, Transporter, mastering the skill of completing weekly half-marathons with ease. Chef, Kilo, Buddy the Elf and YHC using the Hazmat kung-fu style: effective for long-distance training and maintaining fun conversations while at it.
