I already used up every drop of my back blast creativity, on the Mount X back blast earlier in the week, so I don’t have much left for today.
But here we go:

It all started when I found out my man Noonan could not Q today. I stepped in to take his place because I wanted to use it as a momentum builder for team Marvin, who’s been slightly inconsistent throughout the winter in attendance.
I was trying to think of something a little bit different to do today, that would give us a good push, but also be fun. I hit that pre run with my man Rooster LegalZoom and Posse.
When we got back to the parking lot, all the spots were full. Good sign. Big Tuna showed up and brought some boys that he knew. Maybe, he thought Deadwood would be there and just needed some back up.
Mad Dog informed me of his planned attendance last night. I knew I needed to step up big time so I could possibly convert a first time visitor, to a regular last call attendee. Did that happen? Time will tell.

We did a little competition today. We paired up into seven separate teams. Each team was given a weight apparatus that was not allowed to touch the ground at any point before the workout was done. We faced off in Merkin contests, we faced off in big boy contests, all while rotating with our partner, and not letting the weight hit the ground. Then we took off for the clubhouse, to see who could arrive first. Partners could pass the weight back-and-forth when they got tired. I thought I had thought of all scenarios, but I was wrong. One of tuna’s guests is a wide receiver at Appalachian state. So he just held the weight above his head and ran full speed for almost a mile and beat everyone to the clubhouse by roughly 300 yards. I Was not prepared for that.
After that, we did various contests such as relays, bear crawls, ab circle, starfish, Burpee’s, and more. Then, we headed back to COT but this time it was not a competition and everyone was helping everyone hold weight so we could all make it back at one time. We finished with some more Merkin and big boy contests.

It felt great to mix things up a little bit. All of us got a good push, and kept the heart rate up. Except for the collegiate football player, who took off on a post run after COT and nobody has seen him since.

Thank you to all the boys for coming and thank you to Punxsy – Shawn Chen Rooster for letting me lead and trusting me to try something different. Good push by all. It’s always good to be with the boys and the gloom.
