What had happened was:
I finally got a Friday off from work and the timing worked out to sign up to Q at short_circuit. Of course I get sick the week before, and the body is feeling like :poop: . I push myself, not to brag about it here afterwards, but because it’s a lesson for myself, my family, and my workout family: one that we should ALL continue to re-learn as many times as possible:
When that little bit of mental creep enters and starts saying things like “I’ll go when its not cold, not raining, not foggy, etc” or “it will be fine to wait to start until XYZ happens” or “I’ll just sleep 15 more minutes and go for my run this afternoon” — that’s exactly the time to suplex that train of thought back where it came from, and push forward. It applies to fitness, work, relationships, faith, self-improvement and so on. A midlevel office manager once said that “You miss 100% of the shots you dont take.” Also Wayne Gretzky

Anyways, the thang:
Keep it simple. Run 400m (.25 miles in freedom units) or so, stop, SSH waiting for the 6, and do an exercise or two together. Repeato until 3 mile minimum… oh yeah, I remembered this wasn’t a 45 minute workout about 25 minutes in, so pushed forward for 4 miles on the day.
Exercises were the usual suspects. Right as we started the first set of LBCs I remembered the ground was still wet and then Goodfella said something, so that was all the motivation for as many ab exercises on wet ground we could do (and we learned someone had 6/7 bean soup for dinner the SC asphalt farts at you when your shirt is wet)- and Merkins, squats, IW, windmills, big bois, Freddy mercuries, bomb jacks, plank jacks, inch worms, bear crawl at the field, dips and step ups at the pavilion, curls and overhead press at the rock pile (sorry person who lives there- I thought that was the club house), and a ladder of sevens in the parking lot.
After 4 miles, back to COT for 4 minutes of ab work with LBC, pistol LBCs, and plank. COR, NOR, prayer.
Great conversation. Cafe-teria as always after. Thanks again Sparky for driving out to see us. Safe travels to all for the holidays
