What had happened was: Group 1 led by Endo and Group 1a led by Bratwurst Stream crossing was great and we bee lined right over to the cliff drop area. Everyone was on their game today and the tech on Lenny did not cause any great stories today. We held a strong pace over to Cutty and took the snake bends to get to the top. The guys were commenting that it felt a lot like we are already arriving a summer pace! Down 1, Green Mile, and the Power Company jump line, and again nice pace and no OTB stories to share (and I’m 100% fine with that). We were having fun testing out the FNG’s capability, whom would be dubbed “Shang Hai” later at COT and he was definitely hanging right on my tail no matter how hard I pushed up the hills. Took another round of Power Company, up the Green Mile and up Lenny, Down 4. We did squeeze in a short water break but Rag put strict time limits on how long we can stop. My observation was that group 1b was having an incredible ride and Bratwurst got many compliments on his pace and trail selection. 1b stayed on nice dry trails, very conversely, I led group 1 through the upper swamps behind cutty (trails are sponsored by Muc-Off) and we got very mucky. It was so good seeing GP (Bumblebee)Buffet make their 2024 season debuts, and I have been fortunate to hit a lot of F3 AO’s this week and I would swear Tron was at every one of them. Peaches got a couple of nice PRs on Strava however somehow Stickers showed up us Trekkies on his Spesh Stumpy. Hall Monitor showed up on his 1936 Trek Model A and was regretting it when his shock bottomed out early on the trip. Buffet was honored with the Stumpy Award and he was looking pretty good after his Trek downhill mid-shock “pogoed” on him on a big jump a few months ago at Ride Rock Creek resulting in some involuntary rib modifications. Great ride tonight and I cannot wait to see you all again next week!
