What had happened was:

Transporter marketed today as “leg day”, which, I suppose it was since it is Stairmaster and we did climb a few steps. But that was not my primary focus. Before I get into that, though, I want to talk about how quickly Transporter has forgotten his Wisconsin roots. For starters, he’s deathly allergic to the cold now. After coffee he ran faster from Teeter to his truck than I’ve seen him run in a long time. But more egregious is that he’s pulling for the Bears…DA BEARS…to win the Super Bowl. His logic is if “his team”, the Packers, (though I’m beginning to doubt that) lost to the the Bears then he wants them to win so it means they lost to the “best” team. I mean, I can see where he’s going with it, but not when it’s a divisional rival. And he’s from Wisconsin!!!

But I digress…

Today we did a little warming up at the top of the double stairs before jumping right into The Thang which was broken up into two parts:

Part One:
Always go up the double stairs
Shift down one set of stairs each time you descend
5 ruck on Merkins at the top
5 ruck on Squats at the bottom
Continue until you’ve done every set of stairs
Easy peasy

Part Two:
Ditch the Merkins and Squats
Same pattern on the stairs
Replace Merkins and Squats with the following:
5 Tricep Extensions
10 Shoulder Presses
15 Curls (for the girls)
20 High Pulls
Not so easy and definitely not peasy

After the third round of stairs I offered the pax the choice to swap out the High Pulls with an exercise of their choosing but countered that there would be “a catch” if they chose to do so. I think I overheard Mad Dog say something about “the devil you know…” so we stuck with the High Pulls. I sure am glad I have an office job so I don’t have to lift my arms the rest of the day

Part Three: (I lied about there only being two parts)
With the remaining 3 minutes we headed back to the double stairs and into The Grinder™, which is basically 3 minutes of continuous up and down the stairs with no break.

Several praise items this morning. Plenty of unspoken prayer requests. Transporter took us out and asked us each to think of someone who could use encouragement. If you’re reading this then go ahead and think of someone you know that could use encouragement and then reach out to them and provide it.
