What had happened was: The outside thermometer was just one click back temp wise, and this drew out 18 PAX. Stretcher led the insanely fast group and Rag led the just plain fast group. Stretcher had his group take several rounds in the MTB skills session, and it was fun seeing a few guys including Carb Load successfully tackle a fairly legit jump. The trails were pretty unbelievably incredible given they were deep under water not too long ago. The trails were hard packed and bikes rolled very fast, and there were even some sandy sections. Kick Stand got blessed with a flat tire but refused to let that end his shred session, he rode home and came back with another bike. Damascus was trying to stir things up (like the Hank Williams song Stirrin’ it up) and mentioned to me that Rag was dissing my climbing abilities, so I stuck right on Twinkle toes tire on the Snake Climb just to prove him wrong (however Rag was in a different group so he didn’t see my climbing prowess). A major highlight was that the one and only Roomba made a showing, his first MTB session post cardiac hiatus, and I witnessed him climbing up Cutty 4 as if it wasn’t even a climb at all. COT was great as always and amongst the announcments it is important to note that we have a fantastic opportunity to partner with the Cutherbertson Cross-Country team to do some clean up of the School Property including a sketchy meth-station or something like that, that we found in the woods. If we remain tropic storm free over the next few weeks this should be some of the most premium riding of the season. Come and join us.
