FNGs:
COUNT: 9
For the record- this was an awful idea. If I had been around longer than a year, I’d know that Transporter has done this before, and I’d have known how bad it is. But it was an absolute masterpiece of a mind game and a diabolical leg workout.
What had happened was:
I modified the “hardest mile” for the dromedary site. I measured 10 reps for the short side and then made a 1:4 quadrilateral for 100 reps around. I also forgot that reps get shorter as you get tired, and we all lost count. It was more than 100 burpees for sure. Ended up being about 0.2 miles for the loop.
Warmed up on a surprisingly cold morning:
SSH, legs, calves, Moroccan night clubs
Lap 1: Mosey
2: broadjump, burpee, repeato
3: mosey
4: walking lunges
5: mosey
5.25: bear crawl
That’s as far as we Das Boot got in 45 minutes.
COT food for thought about what pax were thinking during the laps:
– A ton of grumbling about what was coming up, and that they didn’t want to be there.
– We all started it anyways.
– Did pax focus on how many more burpees needed to finish?
– Did pax just focus on doing 1 at a time?
– Did anyone stop for a second, and reflect how far they had progressed?
– Almost a universal reaction from all when it was called out that 35 minutes had passed and 10 to go… the time passed fairly quickly.
– Not a single pax lamented that we didnt finish the sixth lap.
Are you focused on the present moment in your life? Do you live in the past, or even acknowledge it? Do you only focus on the future? Are you harder on yourself than you need to be when you experience some form of failure?
— I don’t know… Maybe I actually like this workout more than I thought initially. There’s a lot of insight to be gained from it.
Thanks for pushing through, gents…
