“What did I get myself into?” is a question often uttered by FNGs and it was likely asked multiple times today, but there were no FNGs present.

WARMUP: Mosey through the trail, hillbilly Rockettes, Nancy Kerrigans in the bridge, more mosey, mountain climbers, something else odd that YHC doesn’t recall right now.

THE THANG:
Head to Golden View and alternate between Hindu/dive bomb merkins and star jumps at the driveways, increasing the number by one as we went along.

Mosey to the roundabout for a triple nickel of big boys at the top and Sister Mary Catherines at the bottom of the hill.

Head back towards the clubhouse with 3x T merkins for any Tesla or 3x WWI sit-ups for any German vehicle or a duck walk for and Jeep. Some exercises at the clubhouse and then at the bridge, then resume with the Tesla and German requirements to the school driveway.

A variation of 1st and 10 at cones conveniently pre-arranged at the school driveway. Finish with the Bennifer 2 (fka A-Rod, per the Exicon). Hustle back to COT.

MOLESKINE:
YHC’s Qs have been light on mileage lately but with an hour long workout and the June Waxhaw Warriors Challenge kicking off, low mileage would not cut it this time. This is probably where the question was asked at the end because a few of the guys weren’t signed up for the challenge and weren’t expecting almost 4 miles during the workout.

The first question was in the warm-up with some strange exercises from the deep dark parts of the Exicon. Nancy Kerrigans? Hillbilly Rockettes? We all need to work on that balance some so fall in line, don’t fall over.

Then it wasn’t too long before the Q was asking the question. When calling the Hindu merkins (is that not PC?), Zin called them muff divers. Huh? Then the jokes kicked and it soon got a little interesting, fortunately the 2.0s were behind the lead group and deep in thoughtful conversation to miss the adult conversation going on. (Who in their right mind send their kids to workout with a group that includes Zin leading the mumblechatter?!) We finally made it to the end of the 18 driveways and added one more of each on the end for a total of 46 merkins and 46 jumps — a slightly delayed birthday celebration for the Q.

For the mosey back towards the clubhouse and school, the instructions for the cars made the PAX ask why those cars — who cares, didn’t matter? The duck walk was quickly scratched because that’s terrible and apparently everyone will refusenik that one, er, has knee problems.

Throughout the Golden View conversation, Zin commented that YHC must be working out some fourth F frustration. Probably not the case, but with that commentary in mind, we had to end with 10 Bennifer, fka The A-Rod, which is a J-Lo followed by a pickle pounder. Always a crowd favorite, especially on this morning. That’s a tough one to end on but we had to get it in.

Solid effort out there for the PAX, especially those who weren’t looking for high mileage. Great support effort by the leaders to circle back for the Six. This is a fun group, never a dull moment with these guys and this is why we F3.
