What had happened was:

– We often say “F3 is more than a workout”
– Today was one of those days
– We worked out
– Q said something
– We did announcements
– We kneeled for the takeout
– And then it was asked “Does anyone want to share something?”
– And then silence
– And then an awkward pause
– And then one of the 10 said “I’m struggling!”
– The one PAX shared some personal and tough stuff
– The other PAX gathered around to listen and offer encouragement
– The brothers laid hands on our brother and prayed for him

SUMMARY:

– F3 is definitely more than a workout
– This PAX (and others who share) has great courage TO SHOW UP AND SAY SOMETHING . . . Not easy
– The collective PAX want to help . . . But we SUCK at getting underneath the surface-level conversations

NEXT STEPS:

– Struggling PAX: Show up. Say something to someone whether at COT, one on one, or at Coffeeteria.
– All PAX: Whether you have faith or not, realize that there is an enemy that wants you to feel alone and for you to be in the dark or for your sins to be in the dark and for you to feel ashamed
– All PAX: Get deeper in your faith to understand the above, identify those situations, and find ways to battle against those forces
– All PAX: Reach out to your brother and ASK THE SECOND QUESTION, “How are your REALLY doing? How’s your marriage? What are you struggling with? What can I be praying for you about?”
– All PAX: Don’t remain in darkness, bring things into the light
