What had happened was: This morning started with good intentions—helping a Pax brother in need who was down and out with the big “C” word… aka COVID.
With the Weinke carefully crafted and the Pax locked and loaded for a strong 5:30 AM launch, we set off with high hopes and questionable decision-making. Somewhere around 5:01 AM the wheels started to get a little wobbly… and from there the train began to resemble one of those shopping carts with the busted front wheel. Not completely off the tracks, but definitely rattling loud enough for the neighborhood to hear.
It quickly became clear that today’s Pax required more of a connect-the-dots / coloring-book style leadership approach than originally anticipated. Apparently “simple instructions” meant we should have brought flash cards and possibly a substitute teacher.
Lesson learned.
Also worth noting: one Pax decided to get a little bully-ish toward a certain Chicken. Unfortunately for him, that bird has thick feathers, questionable hearing, and zero interest in criticism before sunrise. Nice try… but the coop remains undefeated.
In the end, nobody died, everyone sweated, and a lesson was learned: sometimes the Q brings the workout… and sometimes the Pax brings the circus.
