YHC Rolled in with about 90 seconds till launch—just enough time to look like I had everything perfectly under control. Meanwhile a couple of the Watchtower faithful showed up “early” ready to pre-run, only to realize the pax had already gotten going and they’d better hustle up to catch the group.
After the mosey (and some par for the course Damascus mutterings) the scene was set. As soon as we hit that Gasparilla + white lines combo, the ever-alert Recalc sniffed it out immediately… Bus spots + bear crawls or crab walks as per my usual. But as any tomfoolery friendly pirate might say, nah playa… today we bring sand to the beach.
So out came the sandbags.
We kept things Murph-adjacent with plenty of pull-ups, merkins, and squats, layered with some other pirate-style fun. Sandbag carries, partner grinders, thrusters in the merkin circle, Indian run chaos—just enough variety to keep everyone guessing and everyone moving.
Thankfully YHC had some Q juice Tues (a big upgrade from my struggle-bus Ignition Q The day before). Energy was high, work got done, and the Beast got fed.
One thing about being on Q:
– Sometimes the pax are smiling and happy and you think, nice, this is working.
– Sometimes the pax hate it and you think, perfect, this is definitely working.
– And sometimes you’re honestly not quite sure which one it is.
– But that’s F3.
It’s a balance of pushing yourself and pushing others, while also bringing others along with you. That’s the First F mindset we keep trying to embed into all our ish. Show up, lead when it’s your turn, follow when it’s not, and keep moving forward together.
Shout-out to Misery for two posts in a row and to all the bros who put in work this morning.
COT
• Prayers for family
• CSAUP announcements (check out the #commz channel)
• Words from multiple pax about the overt and subtle ways the enemy creeps in
Reminder that we are stronger than our demons, especially when we don’t fight them alone.
Always grateful for the brotherhood.
