Q: Gasparilla | The Buccaneer Beatdown 🏴‍☠️

First off, a big thank you to the Dirty Dozen who took the time to Q-shop this weekend and ultimately landed on the best worst option with yours truly. Who doesn’t love a good Buccaneer Beatdown?

We kicked things off with a .85-mile mosey, the perfect distance to finalize the finishing touches on my weinke while simultaneously generating some quality groans from the PAX. Schneider was equal parts angry, confused, and relieved when we finally arrived at the stretching portion of the workout. I even threw in an extra upward dog to keep the PAX motivated. You’re welcome.

Enough pleasantries. Time to get to work.

Enter what I affectionately dubbed The Human Centipede.

We made our way through the Ace Hardware parking lot, up and down each aisle, sometimes once, sometimes twice, stopping at each island for an exercise. You know the Ace parking lot – the rough, gravely, under-construction one conveniently located right next to the buttery-smooth Publix lot. Nothing says Monday morning like choosing the worst possible surface for a beatdown.

Our modes of transportation and corresponding pain included:

– Crab Walks → Big Bois
– Lunge Walks → Squats
– Bear Crawls → Tyson’s

10 reps at each stop, followed by a lap around the lot. Up and down, back and forth, aisle after aisle until we had accumulated 180 reps of each exercise.

With a little time left on the clock, we wrapped things up with a five-exercise core blast:

– Flutters
– LBCs
– Hammers
– Big Bois
– Pistol LBCs

One final lap around campus brought us to 2.25 miles and safely back to COT.
