COUNT: 23
Our 17 blood drives have taken us all over the area, and this one was our first at the Waxhaw Atrium hospital.
– Apparently this place goes by several different names. If your name doesn’t match the other person’s name (likely), then you must take the next 3 minutes to start describing everything else around it to try to wipe the blank stare from the other’s face.
– We are now up to :six::eight::zero: total donations as a region!:tclaps:
– 20% of these are Vdonors
– Lots of Pax consistency
– The :six::six::six:th donor was Zinfandel:the_horns:, which was oddly appropriate. He’s also appreciated for the sign up boost in the last few days leading up to the event.
– This was the highest number of donations in the Ghosted era with 41! Still just shy of the OG drive Q’ed by Fuse Box with 74.
– A much more intimate setting than all other locations that encouraged more talk all around – donors, staff & volunteers. Yeah, it was a lot hotter than it should’ve been, but paradoxically the vibes were better.
– Das Boot is the hardest working donor. Every. Time.
– Really surprised that several non-F3 people wanted to get on our BloodBoard:tm:. Posse was quick to acknowledge other’s times, but didn’t write them down. Ghosted & Rockslide did the right thing & added them to the list. After all, we are building community here.
– Easy Button had the fastest Pax time at 4:17. However, as usual, a woman blew past him at 4:04 (Julia).
– Gasparilla had the longest Pax time at 7:46. Seems like he was upset at the previous drive only finding out at the last minute that this is a competition. Look for the pirate to make a comeback in November.
– Rockslide was the hero of the morning by being at the hospital unusually early to meet the unusually early RC crew & getting the area prepped.
– A pre-FNG left his jacket behind. so a porch drop off had to be made, which included one F3 card in the pocket. Let’s see if we get another Champion Forester, who only lives a couple houses down from Reboot.
– Several potential pre-FNGs heavily marketed to. Still trying to capture that ChatterBox bottle lightning from many drives ago.
– Lots of interesting reconnections happened, almost all around Juice’s M.
– Kudos to Juice for following Schnitzel’s advice & making this the best day date they’ve ever had.
– Elmer’s, a :v:time Effie award winner, also became a :v:gallon cumulative donor.:deuces:
– Jingles & Damascus became blood brothers as they both crossed the :point_up:gallon mark, had the exact same donation time, & tried to edit the board to make themselves faster than the other (just like brothers).
– Had “Like a Virgin” & “Feels Like the First Time” ready to go on the playlist for U-Haul’s donation, but “I’ve Been Everywhere” was much more appropriate.
– Several more milestones likely occurred with the walk-ins, but we’ll never know (or celebrate it) as we only have data on the scheduled (conscientious, not jerks) Pax. Looking directly at you, Carb Load:point_left::index_pointing_at_the_viewer::eyes:
– If you were one of the walk-ins that truly didn’t know if you could make it until day of, you get a pass. And our thanks. You stepped in when others couldn’t.
– Thanks to Ghosted’s unrelenting persistence, he already has 31 of the 38 slots filled for the November 21 drive. You’re welcome for no longer getting harassed by the RC for the next 6 months. Want to enjoy the same perk? www.redcrossblood.org/give.html/drive-results?zipSponsor=F3
– Missed having Mute on the crew, but he’s currently out of town/county/state/country/continent/hemisphere
