Geez, 35 guys. Amazing.
Been some time since I’ve been to the ‘Haw (I usually only show up to win races with Chicken Little) but Deadwood had an obligation to get a new Q to his AO – similar to all of those other Waxhaw challenges we see you all doing from afar (see: Passport, WTF, etc.) and I’m always up to see what’s happening in the Nation’s most motivated region.
Great morning and besides Google maps research I did some 30 second recon work to make sure I had the map right. Got there 10 mins early and there were already 8-10 cars in the lot…whaaaaa? Impressive boys.
Instructions from Deadwood were- get at least 4 miles and make sure you do the right form- 10-4
The Thang
– Warmup at library
– .5 mile up & down Prickly ln with man makers & monkey humpers
– Cul-de-sac burpee run
– Parking space Merkin crawls
– Mary
I hadn’t posted with Ice 9 in over a year and I forgot that he likes to assert his Alpha male dominance early on and does a little shoulder hook to get ahead of the Q. It’s irritating and motivating all at the same time. He was yanking on dudes shirts near the end of the workout as well.
Lots of fast guys out today keeping the pace – Gerber, Chastain, Rainman, Easy Button, Deflated, Punxy & Dunkin were the ones I noticed flying up the hills but there were others as well.
I’ve been on the DL for a few weeks and it was really good to see you guys pushing hard, it definitely got me motivated and exactly what I needed this morning.
Area 51 #s have been down for a while and it’s great to see Waxhaw continue to grow. The closest I usually get to you all is WAMRAP on Wednesdays at Waverly but this was only 21 mins door to door so not far at all.
I was intending to get coffee but went to the wrong Harris Teeter/Starbucks :weary:. Ended up grabbing Dunkin’ Donuts and making the kids morning so it was a good mistake.
Really appreciate the opportunity to lead and proud of the brotherhood you all have built up in this region!
1% better every day! There is NO finish line!
See you next time
